Antinori Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino is a prestigious Italian red wine crafted by the legendary Marchesi Antinori family at their Pian delle Vigne estate in Montalcino, Tuscany. The estate has been part of the Antinori family since 1995, when the inaugural vintage was produced. Made entirely from Sangiovese — Tuscany's flagship grape — this wine carries the coveted DOCG designation of Brunello di Montalcino, one of Italy's most celebrated and age-worthy appellations.
On the nose, the wine offers aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and blackberries, layered with notes of oak, tobacco, dark chocolate, leather, and earthy complexity. The palate is bold and structured with firm yet refined tannins, bright natural acidity, and a long, persistent finish marked by hints of licorice, black pepper, and dried fruit. The 2016 vintage earned 95 points from Wine Enthusiast, and the wine holds a 4.3 rating on Vivino based on over 40,000 reviews. Alcohol content: 13.7%. Contains sulfites.
This wine pairs beautifully with grilled and braised beef, roasted lamb, game meats such as venison, and aged hard cheeses. Available at Costco as a case of six 750ml bottles.
