Santa Teresa 1796 Chuao Cacao Cask Finish Rum is a Venezuelan limited edition expression from the legendary Hacienda Santa Teresa distillery. Built on the foundation of the acclaimed 1796 triple-aged solera rum, this special release undergoes an additional finish in American oak casks previously filled with a rum-cacao cold-brew crafted from rare cacao beans grown in Chuao, Venezuela โ one of the world's most coveted cacao-producing regions.
The Chuao cacao cask finish imparts a rich chocolate character to the rum, resulting in layered tasting notes of cacao nibs, dark chocolate, aged wood, toasted nuts, candied orange peel, and dried fruits. Bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof), the rum delivers a smooth, balanced finish that makes it equally at home sipped neat, on the rocks, or as the centerpiece of a premium cocktail.
Hacienda Santa Teresa, established in 1796 in the Aragua Valley of Venezuela, is one of the oldest and most respected rum producers in the Americas. The 1796 expression uses the traditional solera aging method, blending rums of varying ages to achieve a consistent, deeply layered profile.
