Roseblood d'Estoublon is a premium French rosé from the prestigious Château d'Estoublon estate in Provence, founded in 1489. This exceptional blend combines 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Cinsault, and 5% Rolle (Vermentino) sourced from hillside vineyards in Coteaux Varois en Provence. The vineyards sit at elevations of 1,100-1,600 feet on red earth soils with pockets of gravel and flint, thriving in a mild continental climate. The estate was acquired in 2020 by Jean-Guillaume Prats (former CEO of Cos d'Estournel) along with notable partners including musician Carla Bruni, former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and entrepreneur Stéphane Courbit. The winemaking process involves direct pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel and concrete, with aging on fine lees for several weeks.
The 2023 vintage showcases a delightful aromatic profile of jasmine, peach, and redcurrants balanced by crisp acidity and freshness. On the palate, vivid strawberry, crunchy nectarine, and melon flavors mingle with notes of smoke, fresh green herbs, and a distinctive stony, salty mineral character. The wine is medium-bodied with a rounded texture and finishes with tangy citrus acidity and mineral tension. At 12.5% ABV, this elegant rosé is immensely drinkable with excellent balance between density, energy, and elegance.
Professional reviews praise its sophistication: Vinous awarded 91 points, James Suckling 91 points, Wine Spectator 90 points, and Decanter 90 points. The 3-liter format is perfect for gatherings and entertaining.
