The Hearach Oloroso Cask Matured is a distinguished single malt Scotch whisky from Isle of Harris Distillery, located in the remote Outer Hebrides of Scotland. This is the second whisky expression from the distillery, matured exclusively in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks sourced directly from José y Miguel Martín, a renowned family cooperage in the historic sherry-making region of Jerez, Andalusia, Spain. Isle of Harris Distillery established this relationship in 2015, selecting Oloroso butts prized for their dry, dark, and nutty character — an influence that imparts bold, unmistakable richness to the island spirit as it matures far from its original home.

Bottled at 46% ABV and presented non-chill filtered with no artificial colouring, this whisky offers full-bodied character and natural clarity. On the nose, aromas of cinnamon, orange peel, and cloves emerge alongside green hints of mixed herbs and the creaminess of white chocolate. The palate delivers wood smoke and walnut shells, evolving into dried thyme and burnt oranges, before spices of vanilla and subtle cloves develop. The finish is long, with leather and liquorice lingering. A dry style with structured tannins, soft stewed apples, warm toffee, and a gentle hint of sauna wood round out the experience.
