This straight rye is first aged approximately 6.5 to 7 years in barrels that previously held maple syrup, then finished with toasted Amburana oak staves — a rare Brazilian hardwood known for imparting warm, confectionery notes. The result is a small-batch whiskey bottled at 108 proof (54% ABV) with a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, sourced from an Indiana distillery and yielding approximately 600 to 750 bottles per batch.

On the nose, the whiskey opens with sweet maple syrup, fresh gingerbread, and graham cracker. The palate delivers a strong rye spice backbone with layers of rich maple sweetness, charred oak, gingerbread cookie, and an earthy undertone from the Amburana staves. The finish is long and bold, with the Amburana-driven sweetness giving way to brown sugar and a peak of rye spice.
