The wine is crafted from grapes grown in a 1.48 hectare vineyard at 350 meters elevation with southwest exposure on Sant'Agata marls characteristic of the Tortoniano geological age. Vinification follows traditional methods with fermentation at 28-30°C in oak vats, followed by aging in small oak barrels and large casks for 28-30 months, plus 10 months of bottle aging.
