La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion is the prestigious second wine of Château La Mission Haut-Brion, one of Bordeaux's most celebrated estates in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. This listing covers the 2021 vintage, sold as a case of six 750ML bottles. The wine is a classic Left Bank Bordeaux blend of 51% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Cabernet Franc, aged 12 months in oak barrels with 27% new oak, delivering an elegant balance of fruit concentration and structure.
The 2021 vintage displays a beautiful dark color with bright red highlights. The nose is aromatic, fruity, and ripe with aromas of lead pencil, dark berries, spices, and menthol, while the oak influence remains discreet and subtle. On the palate, the attack is soft and suave, revealing a fleshy, medium-to-full-bodied texture with powdery tannins, vibrant freshness, and a long, ethereal finish. The 2021 vintage has been praised for its purity and balance, drawing comparisons to the elegant 2017 style. Critical acclaim includes 93–94 points from James Suckling, 92 from Decanter, and 90–92 from Wine Advocate.
This wine pairs beautifully with roasted beef, lamb, poultry, and game. It is produced by Château La Mission Haut-Brion and contains sulfites. Alcohol content: 14.2%.
