Chateau Lynch Bages 'High Five' is a Costco-exclusive three-bottle set celebrating one of Bordeaux's most celebrated estates. Château Lynch-Bages is a 1855 Fifth Growth Grand Cru Classé from Pauillac in the Médoc, renowned for delivering quality that consistently rivals the First and Second Growths at a more accessible price point. The playful "High Five" name is a nod to the estate's official Fifth Growth classification. The Cazes family has owned and operated the estate since 1939, with Jean-Charles Cazes continuing the legacy of quality and precision viticulture.
The vineyard spans approximately 100 hectares of prime Pauillac terroir - gravelly hilltop soils overlooking the Gironde estuary, neighboring Châteaux Latour and Mouton. Typical blends lean heavily on Cabernet Sauvignon (around 70-75%), complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The wines are known for their deep color, full body, and age-worthy structure, with characteristic aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, cassis, cedar, tobacco, and graphite. On the palate, expect rich, concentrated fruit wrapped in polished tannins with a long, complex finish. Recent vintages have earned scores of 95-99 points from major critics, reinforcing Lynch-Bages' status as one of Bordeaux's great overachievers. Each bottle is 750ml.
