Bardstown Bourbon Company's Discovery Series #13 is a limited release Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey bottled at 110.8 proof (55.4% ABV). It marks the first double-barreled entry in the Discovery series, blending four sourced Kentucky straight bourbons aged 8, 9, and 15 years. Approximately 60% of the blend was finished in new American white oak barrels, while the remaining 40% was finished in Hungarian oak barrels for four months, adding depth, complexity, and distinction.

The blend draws from four distinct mashbills: 45% from a 9-year expression (74% corn, 18% rye, 8% malted barley), 22% from a 9-year high-corn recipe (78% corn, 10% rye, 12% malted barley), 20% from a 15-year aged bourbon (75% corn, 13% rye, 12% malted barley), and 13% from an 8-year high-rye bourbon (70% corn, 21% rye, 9% malted barley). The Discovery series is built around the art of blending, combining complementary whiskies so that the sum is greater than any individual part.

The whiskey pours a rich amber-copper color. On the nose, stewed dark fruits, Luxardo cherry, apple fritter, caramel, and vanilla custard lead the way. The palate delivers crème brûlée, toffee, dark fruits, graham cracker, and clove, with peppery seasoned oak and pleasant rye spice emerging on the back end. The finish transitions through baking spices and cinnamon, rounding out with cherry pie, toasted oak, and lingering warmth. Released in August 2025 with a suggested retail price of $140.
