Blanc de Lynch-Bages is a prestigious white Bordeaux wine produced by the celebrated Château Lynch-Bages estate, one of the finest properties in the Pauillac appellation of the Médoc. First produced in 1978 and released commercially beginning with the 1990 vintage, it was among the first white wines crafted by a Grand Cru Classé Médoc château, and has since become one of Bordeaux's most sought-after whites.
The wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle, with Sauvignon Blanc comprising the majority of the blend—typically around 67–81% depending on the vintage. The juice is vinified and aged on the lees for approximately six months with partial new oak, lending a creamy texture and added complexity while preserving freshness and vibrancy.
Tasting notes across vintages describe aromas and flavors of lemon rind, citrus peel, sliced mango, peach, honeyed flowers, gunflint minerality, and chalky undertones. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with bright acidity, a velvety phenolic structure, and a long, refreshing finish. Recent vintages have earned scores ranging from 91 to 94 points from major critics including James Suckling, Decanter, Jeb Dunnuck, and Wine Advocate. It is well-suited for near-term enjoyment or medium-term cellaring.
