Château Cazenave is a distinguished Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from the heart of Bordeaux, France. Produced at Lieu dit Haut Gravet in the renowned Saint-Émilion appellation, this classic Right Bank Bordeaux blends 65% Merlot with 35% Cabernet Franc, sourced from vines averaging 40 years of age planted in a combination of clay and sandy soils.
The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in French oak barrels — 70% second-use and 30% new oak — allowing the fruit character of the terroir to develop complexity and depth. The result is a medium- to full-bodied red with a structured yet approachable profile. The 2015 vintage earned a Gold Medal and 90 points from Tastings.com, and the wine holds an average rating of 4.0 out of 5 on Vivino across multiple vintages.
On the palate, expect toasty, spicy aromatics alongside smoky plum and black cherry fruit, with hints of walnut, cedar, and licorice. Dusty tannins frame a juicy dark-fruited core leading to a firm finish with notes of bitter chocolate. This wine pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, roasted poultry, and game such as venison.
Château Cazenave holds ISO 14001 environmental management certification and is Agriconfiance certified, reflecting the estate's commitment to sustainable viticulture. The wine is distributed internationally, including in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and multiple Asian markets. Contains sulfites. 14% ABV.
