Le Clos du Caillou Reserve is a prestigious red wine from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation in the Southern Rhône Valley of France. Produced by the Pouzin-Vacheron family estate, this flagship cuvée was first released in 1998 and draws from some of the oldest vines on the property — some over a century old — planted in sandy terroir within the la Guigasse and Pignan lieux-dits.

The Reserve is typically a blend of approximately 60% old-vine Grenache and 40% Mourvèdre, though proportions vary by vintage. The wine is aged for 14 months in demi-muids (large oak barrels), resulting in a wine of remarkable depth, complexity, and elegance. The estate practices certified biodynamic and organic farming, having received agriculture biologique certification in 2010, with renowned consultant Philippe Cambie advising the winemaking.

On the palate, the Reserve typically shows kirsch, dark cherries, licorice, Asian spice, smoked meat, and floral notes, with a lush, supple texture and exceptional aging potential of 7–25 years from vintage. It has received near-perfect scores across multiple vintages, including a perfect 100-point score for the 2016. Serve at 15.5°C (60°F), decanting young vintages for 1–2 hours. Pairs beautifully with lamb, duck, game, cassoulet, and rich braised dishes.
