Rampur Jugalbandi No. 6 is a cask-strength Indian single malt whisky from Rampur Distillery, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas in Uttar Pradesh, India. Part of the acclaimed Jugalbandi limited-edition series, this expression is inspired by the ancient Indian classical music tradition of jugalbandi—a duet between two lead performers—where harmony is achieved through the interplay of two distinct cask maturations.

Master distiller Anup Barik first matures the spirit in American bourbon barrels before transferring it to select Madeira wine casks for extended finishing. This dual-cask approach creates a rich, complex, and layered flavor profile. Bottled at cask strength of 55.8% ABV, Jugalbandi No. 6 is unpeated, allowing the full character of its tropical-fruit-forward profile and Madeira influence to shine.

The nose offers sweet tropical abundance: papaya, lychee, clementine, raspberry, canned peaches, caramel, and pecan. On the palate, citrus peel, grilled pineapple, passion fruit, and ripe mango intertwine with caramelized apricot, vanilla, and dark dried fruits—raisins and dried fig—alongside a complex, warming spiciness. The long finish is layered with dark chocolate, baked orange, and lingering spice carried by the Madeira cask influence.

Jugalbandi No. 6 entered the US market in 2024 and earned 91 points from Whisky Advocate. Each expression in the Jugalbandi series is a limited-edition, small-batch release personally curated by Master Distiller Anup Barik.
