Port Charlotte 10 Year is a heavily peated Islay single malt Scotch whisky from Bruichladdich Distillery, conceived, distilled, matured, and bottled entirely on the Isle of Islay. Made from 100% Scottish barley sourced from the Invernessshire region and peated to 40 parts per million (PPM), this whisky is trickle distilled through tall, narrow-necked stills for a balanced, heathery style of barbecue smoke.

Aging for 10 years on the shores of Loch Indaal brings remarkable depth and character to this spirit. The maturation uses 65% first fill American whiskey casks, 10% second fill American whiskey casks, and 25% second fill French wine casks, creating layers of complexity. Bottled at 50% ABV without chill filtration and free of artificial coloring, this whisky represents Bruichladdich's commitment to transparency and terroir.

On the nose, the smoke is calmed by marine, ozone character with dry and earthy notes, allowing oak to come forward with waves of golden caramel, fudge, vanilla custard, hints of ginger, nutmeg and clove. Citrus fruit emerges with lemon meringue and clementine, while floral aromas of wild thyme, heather and sea pink evoke the Atlantic coast. The palate shows noticeable delicacy and softness in texture, with smoke wrapping loosely around sweetness drawn from deep within the oak. Coconut, vanilla custard and lemon honey combine with smoked oysters and sun-baked salty sand. The finish is sublime and smoky with soft sweetness of fudge and malted barley, orange, mango and banoffee pie signaling the depth and quality of oak, with layers of ripe apple and apricot beautifully intertwined with malt and oak sweetness and typical Port Charlotte dry smoke.
