Black Pearl Vineyards Chenin Blanc is a crisp, aromatic white wine from the Swartland region of South Africa's Western Cape, produced by Black Pearl Vineyards. The estate is owned by American ex-pat Mary-Lou Nash, who focuses on high-quality, value-driven wines across a 240-hectare property where biodiversity restoration is actively pursued.

This Chenin Blanc is sourced from 16-year-old bush vines grown on slate soils near Riebeek West, using Clone SN22 originally from France's Loire Valley. Fermentation employs two yeasts chosen to develop passionfruit characteristics and high aromatic intensity, with the wine resting on its lees for several months after fermentation to enhance mouthfeel and complexity.

The wine opens with a fresh and sensuous bouquet of red Anjou pears, stone fruits, and lime zest, with top notes of pithy spice, light smoke, and waxy incense. On the palate, it is crisp, precise, and laser-focused, with zesty acidity complemented by Granny Smith apple and subtle tropical fruit flavors, finishing bright and clean.
