Purlieu is a small-production Napa Valley winery producing Cabernet Sauvignon that showcases the region's signature richness and depth. This 750ml bottle delivers a full-bodied red wine with deep garnet-purple color and an exuberant nose of blackcurrant pastilles, blackberry compote, stewed red plums, kirsch, potpourri, fragrant earth, and cigar box.

On the palate, the wine is opulently fruited with powerful flavors well framed by firm, ripe tannins and lively freshness, finishing long and spicy. It has also received praise for its direct beam of cassis and raspberry reduction, flanked by anise, applewood, and bramble notes with a loamy echo on the rich, polished finish.

The 2016 vintage earned 95 points from Robert Parker, who recommended drinking through 2045, and 93 points from Wine Spectator. Purlieu's winemaker Julien Fayard, who previously worked at Château Lafite Rothschild, brings a Bordeaux-inspired precision to Napa's lush, ripe fruit profile.
