Lava Cap Reserve Chardonnay is an estate-grown white wine from Placerville in El Dorado County, California, produced at an elevation of 2,700 feet in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The grapes are cultivated in unique volcanic soils weathered from ancient ash flows, which contribute to the wine's intensely aromatic and deeply flavored character.

This Reserve Chardonnay is fully barrel fermented in primarily French oak, then aged on the lees for 8 months with frequent battonage and no added sulfur dioxide. The result is a crisp, medium-bodied Chardonnay with flavors of pear and apple, complemented by notes of vanilla and sweet French oak, with a smooth, rich finish.
