Luis Seabra Xisto Ilimitado Tinto is a dry red wine from the Douro Valley, Portugal's oldest demarcated wine region, crafted by winemaker Luis Seabra after a decade working under celebrated producer Dirk Niepoort. The wine is a field blend of old vines planted between 1960 and 1980, drawing on varieties including Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Rufete, Tinta Barroca, Malvasia Preta, and Donzelinho Tinto. Grapes are sourced from the Pinhão zone and vinified with whole clusters in concrete and stainless steel, then matured in oak of various sizes for approximately 15 months.

The wine is light-bodied with a moderate 12.5% alcohol. It opens with expressive, almost floral aromas of bright red and tart black fruit, violets, wet stone, and slate. On the palate it is juicy and fruit-driven with refreshing acidity, lightly grippy tannins, a soft mouthfeel, and a dry finish with notes of white pepper, laurel, and herbs. It is an excellent food wine, reflecting Luis Seabra's philosophy of making transparent, terroir-driven dry wines from the Douro rather than the richer, extracted style typical of the region.
