Hard Truth Sweet Mash Wheated Bourbon Bottled in Bond is a grain-to-glass Indiana wheated bourbon crafted by Master Distiller Bryan Smith at Hard Truth Distilling Co. in Brown County, Indiana. Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) and aged a minimum of four years as required by Bottled in Bond regulations, this bourbon represents Hard Truth's flagship whiskey program built from the ground up since 2018.

The wheated mash bill is composed of 69% corn, 19% wheat, and 12% malted barley, sourced from local Indiana family farmers. Unlike many distilleries, Hard Truth uses the sweet mash process — starting every batch with entirely fresh ingredients rather than recycling a portion of a previous batch. This approach preserves the full complexity of the grain flavors and allows the whiskey to develop peak character in new, charred American oak barrels. Each batch is produced in small runs of 30 or fewer barrels using a custom continuous column still made by Vendome Copper & Brass Works.

On the nose, expect toasted marshmallow, dark chocolate, and custard. The palate delivers s'mores, toasted almond, and candied fruit, leading into a finish of mocha and shortbread that builds to black pepper and maple.
