Pierre de Fontval Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a red wine from the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation in the Southern Rhône Valley of France, produced by Ravoire & Fils. Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the most celebrated wine appellations in France, known for producing rich, full-bodied reds from blends anchored by Grenache, often complemented by Syrah, Mourvèdre, and other permitted varieties.
This wine displays the hallmark character of the appellation: deep garnet color, with aromas of ripe dark fruit, garrigue (wild Provençal herbs), leather, and warm spice. On the palate it is rich and generous with velvety tannins, notes of black cherry, fig, and dried herbs, finishing long with earthy complexity. Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines are governed by strict AOC regulations, including minimum alcohol levels and approved grape varieties, ensuring consistent quality and regional typicity.
The 750ml bottle is suitable for pairing with roasted lamb, beef stews, game, grilled duck, and aged cheeses. Best served at 16–18°C (61–64°F). Decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended to fully open the wine's aromas and flavors.
