The Calling Promissio Pinot Noir is a single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the Terra de Promissio ("Land of Promise") vineyard, a celebrated 50-acre estate in California's Sonoma Coast AVA owned by the Karren family. Crafted by winemaker James MacPhail, this wine sources only a small selection of fruit from one of the most prestigious Pinot Noir-growing sites in Sonoma.
Grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a 17-day fermentation in French oak, with hand punch-downs performed three times daily to maximize flavor extraction. The result is a Pinot Noir with aromas of black cherry, red fruits, white flowers, spice, and dried herbs. On the palate it delivers flavors of red fruits, salinity, soil, orange peel, and cherry jam, finishing with a long, elegant character.
