Xicala Joven Mezcal is a 100% Espadin agave mezcal produced in the Valley of Tlacolula, Oaxaca, Mexico. It offers intense aromas of sweet, smoky agave with hints of grapefruit and citrus, while on the palate it is smooth and fruity with notes of grapefruit, honey, coconut, and herbs.

The agave is cooked in a traditional underground pit and crushed using a tahona pulled by mule. The crushed agave is then fermented for eight days in wooden barrels with hot and cold water before being double-distilled, with only the heart of each distillation retained to produce the final spirit at 43% ABV. The mezcal is rested in steel tanks before bottling. Each bottle is adorned with a handcrafted Alebrije. Produced at Destileria Tlacolula (NOM-O01X), which has been making mezcal since 1920. Awarded 94 points by Tastings.com and a Gold Medal from the Chicago Beverage Testing Institute.
