Nikka From the Barrel Extra Marriage is a limited anniversary edition Japanese blended whisky released to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the original From the Barrel expression. Crafted by one of Japan's most respected whisky houses, this bottling features a complex formula created by blending more than 100 different batches of malt and grain whiskies sourced from Nikka's Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries.

What sets this expression apart is its extended "marriage" process — after blending, the whisky is filled into used oak barrels and matured for up to six months. This secondary aging allows the components to fully integrate and harmonize, producing a rounder, richer, and more cohesive whisky than the standard bottling. The result is bottled at a robust 51.4% ABV (102.8 proof), preserving the full intensity and concentration of the blend.

On the nose, the whisky presents vanilla custard, stone fruit, toasted grain, and gentle spice. The palate delivers concentrated malt, caramel, baking spice, hints of dried apricot, and oak. The finish is long and warming with lingering sweetness and spice. Each 500ml bottle is sold as a case of six.
