Torbreck The Steading Blanc is a Rhône-inspired white blend from the Barossa Valley, South Australia, crafted by Torbreck Vintners. The wine is a single-vineyard expression sourced entirely from the Descendant Vineyard on Roennfeldt Road in Marananga, blending Marsanne, Roussanne, and Viognier — varieties that have adapted remarkably well to the Barossa's terroir over the past century.
Grapes are hand-harvested and gently destemmed, with fermentation taking place in a combination of stainless steel and seasoned French oak using indigenous yeasts. The wine is blended just before bottling and is released unfined and unfiltered, preserving its natural character and complexity.
The Steading Blanc offers fragrant aromas of white flowers, summer stone fruits, kaffir lime, honeydew melon, and hints of beeswax, lemongrass, cumquat, orange peel, and ginger root. The palate is medium-bodied with vibrant acidity and fresh citrus and tropical fruit notes. This wine drinks well upon release and will continue to develop over up to eight years, gaining secondary characteristics of brioche and lime chutney. Serve at 10°C (50°F). Pairs well with seafood dishes such as ceviche or Thai seafood salad. Sold as a case of 12 x 750ml bottles.
