Paquera Ensamble is an artisanal mezcal from Mexico crafted as a blend of two agave varieties — Espadin (7 years old) and Barril (14 years old) — united into a single, complex expression. Sold in 750ML bottles, it is bottled at 42.5% ABV.
This mezcal is produced by master distillers Luis Juárez and Juan Hernández in the regions of San Agustín Amatengo Ejutla and Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca. The agave piñas are slow-roasted in a traditional conical earthen oven for six days using mesquite and juniper wood, then crushed with a horse-drawn stone mill known as a Tahona. Natural fermentation takes place in Awewete wood barrels, and the mezcal is double-distilled in copper pot stills. Each batch is limited to 250 liters, ensuring small-batch consistency and artisanal quality.
The result is a rich, layered nightcap sipper with the earthy, smoky character of roasted agave complemented by the depth and complexity that comes from blending two agave varieties of significantly different maturity ages.
