Desparada "Fragment" is a varietal Sauvignon Blanc sourced from multiple iconic vineyards across California's Central Coast, produced by winemaker Vailia From at her small Paso Robles winery. The wine is fermented and aged in a creative mix of neutral oak barrels, amphora (clay), acacia wood barrels, and stainless steel tank, giving it a textural complexity while preserving freshness and varietal character.
The 2024 vintage opens with aromas of tangerine, lemon zest, citrus rinds, matcha, sea spray, minty herbs, and white stone fruits. On the palate it is plump and racy with zesty tension, saline minerality, and a savory herbal flourish, finishing with a sour lime tinge and bright acidity. The wine has earned 92 points from Vinous, 92+ points from Vin Chicago, and 90 points from Wine Advocate.
Sold in cases of 12 x 750ML bottles. Recommended drinking window: 2025โ2029. Best paired with salads, green vegetables, seafood, and light dishes.
