The Wild Turkey Austin Nichols Archives Gold Foil Edition is a 16-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey bottled at 120 proof (60% ABV). It is the inaugural release of the Austin Nichols Archives Collection, the first Wild Turkey series led by Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell, who conceived the series to honor his grandfather Jimmy Russell and to reimagine the iconic "Cheesy Gold Foil" bottlings of the 1980s and 1990s through a modern lens.

The liquid was distilled in 2008 at the former Austin Nichols Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky — the historic still where both Jimmy and Eddie Russell crafted virtually every legendary vintage Wild Turkey expression. It was aged for over 16 years at the Camp Nelson maturation campus across rickhouses CND, CNE, and CNF. The release draws from approximately 400 barrels, with roughly 75% individually tasted by Bruce Russell, and was batched at approximately 148 proof (74% ABV) before bottling at 120 proof.

On the nose, the Gold Foil Edition delivers fragrant oak, woody cherry, toasted caramel, fizzy cola, aged tobacco, and hints of sweet clove and licorice. The palate offers barrel-aged black cherry, complex oak spice, vanilla bean, cola concentrate, dried blood orange, and dark spice. The finish is long and flavorful, with peppery toffee, baked brown sugar, rickhouse oak, chocolate-covered cherry, antique leather, and lingering barrel spice. It is notable for being the last international Wild Turkey release distilled entirely at the old Austin Nichols Distillery. Suggested retail price is approximately $400 for a 750 ML bottle.
