Venge Vineyards Pinot Noir is a premium California red wine sourced from the celebrated Bacigalupi Vineyard in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley appellation. Venge Vineyards is the family project of Kirk Venge, a third-generation Napa Valley winemaker who trained at UC Davis and is widely respected as a consulting winemaker for numerous top-tier California producers. The Bacigalupi Vineyard has a storied history in California wine, having supplied Chardonnay to Chateau Montelena for their landmark 1973 bottling that won the 1976 Paris Tasting.
This Russian River Valley Pinot Noir displays classic hallmarks of the appellation: a medium ruby color with an expressive bouquet of dark cherry, red plum, dried mushroom, truffle, mocha, old cedar, and baking spice. The palate is ripe and richly textured, offering flavors of cherry, dark raspberry, and red plum supported by firm, granular tannins and a long, spice-tinged finish. The wine is aged in French oak barrels and carries the depth and structure characteristic of Venge's approach to Burgundian varietals. Sold in a standard 750ml bottle; this item is a case pack of 12 bottles.
