Château Le Coteau Margaux is a red Bordeaux wine from the Margaux appellation in the Médoc region of Bordeaux, France. It is produced by Château Le Coteau, a small family-owned estate located in Arsac that has been held by the Léglise family for six generations, with winemaker Eric Léglise overseeing production since 1993.
The wine is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend, typically composed of approximately 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, sourced from twelve hectares of gravel-soil vineyards bordering several classified Grands Crus estates within the Margaux appellation. Each grape variety and plot is vinified separately before blending, with aging that incorporates a modest portion of new French oak.
The estate follows sustainable, chemical-free farming practices, avoiding herbicides and pesticides in favor of biodiversity-focused viticulture, and is Ecocert certified. This bottling reflects the classic style associated with Margaux, characterized by structured tannins and refined fruit character typical of the appellation.
