The Billecart-Salmon 250th Anniversary Cuvée is a commemorative vintage Champagne marking two milestones simultaneously: the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence and the 200th anniversary of the House of Billecart-Salmon, one of Champagne's most respected independent family-owned maisons. Released as a special bottling for the American market, it features the Statue of Liberty on its label — a nod to France's enduring bond with the U.S.

The wine is crafted from 100% Grand Cru and Premier Cru fruit, blending 65% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims with 35% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. Vinification is predominantly in stainless steel (97%) with a small portion (3%) aged in oak barrel, preserving freshness and precision. The cuvée undergoes partial malolactic conversion and spent 63 months aging on the lees (sur latte) before disgorgement. It is finished as an Extra Brut with a low dosage of 4.9 g/L, reflecting Billecart-Salmon's signature move toward drier, more mineral-driven styles.

Tasting notes include aromas of brioche, chalk, white flowers, poached pear, almond, peach, mirabelle plum, and stone fruit, with a fresh, precise palate showing red apple, citrus, and a beautiful saline minerality. The 2018 vintage is widely regarded as solar and concentrated yet elegant, giving this cuvée both immediate appeal and aging potential.
