Coudoulet de Beaucastel is the second wine of the legendary Château de Beaucastel estate, produced by Famille Perrin in the Côtes du Rhône appellation of France's Rhône Valley. This red wine is a blend of 30% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache Noir, 30% Syrah, and 10% Cinsault, aged in large traditional foudres.
The wine displays an elegant, clear ruby-red color with purple highlights. On the nose, it offers a beautifully fresh aromatic bouquet with notes of fresh red fruit, crushed strawberries, dark berries, flowers, spices, and garrigue. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied with a very nice balance, roundness, and delicious smoothness thanks to soft, velvety tannins. The finish is ample and refined with a very nice length and a hint of salinity. Critic scores include 93 points from James Suckling, 92 points from The Wine Advocate, and 92 points from Jeb Dunnuck. Sold in cases of 12 x 750ml. Alcohol by volume: 14.5%.
