The set is made from enameled iron — a material tougher than traditional cast iron that heats quickly and evenly — and weighs 30% less than the lightest premium cast iron cookware, making it significantly easier to maneuver on the stovetop and at the table.

Both pieces feature Merten & Storck's proprietary GlazeGuard finish, which is fused to the base material to create a bond more chip-resistant than standard enameled cast iron. The interiors are smooth and snag-free, with sturdy welded handles that eliminate food traps for easier cleaning. The Dutch oven's deep design excels at soups, stews, braising, and slow cooking, while the braiser's wide, shallow profile is ideal for searing, sautéing, and preparations that require less liquid.
