Anakota Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is an estate-grown red wine from the volcanic soils of Sonoma County's Knights Valley appellation. The vineyards climb the southwest-facing slopes of Mount St. Helena at elevations between 700 and 950 feet, surrounded by mountain streams and forests of native fir and oak. The wine is composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon with a small percentage of Petit Verdot, bringing structure and depth to every bottle.
The wine shows a brilliant ruby-violet core with aromas of boysenberry, black plum, roasted espresso bean, dark baking cocoa, herbes de Provence, and subtle baking spices. On the palate, electric acidity and wet stone minerality lift the flavors, while mouth-watering tannins provide a firm, layered finish. The wine reflects the philosophy of vigneron Pierre Seillan, who draws out the distinct character of each vineyard block to produce wines of uncommon balance and length.
Source vineyards include Helena Montana (53%), Coyote Hills (34%), and Stonestreet Estate (13%). This 750ML bottle is sold at Costco at a value below the winery's direct retail price of $165.
