Vietti Lazzarito Barolo Piedmont, Italy 750ML

Vietti Barolo Lazzarito is a prestigious single-vineyard Barolo DOCG sourced from the Lazzarito MGA (Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva) in Serralunga d'Alba, Piedmont, Italy. The Lazzarito vineyard spans approximately three hectares near the village of Serralunga d'Alba, with south and southwestern exposures set within a natural amphitheater. The soils in this area are older and more evolved, producing wines of strong character and exceptional aging potential. Lazzarito is Vietti's only MGA bottling from Serralunga d'Alba, making it a singular expression of one of Barolo's most powerful terroirs.

Made from 100% Nebbiolo, this wine opens aromatically with notes of figs, plums, tangerine, crushed red flowers, red berries, and delicate spices. On the palate it is extremely smooth with well-integrated tannins, sweet dried dark fruits, fresh herbs, and baking spice. A signature salty mineral finish, almost metallic in character, distinguishes Lazzarito from Vietti's other Barolo bottlings. The wine is vegan-friendly and best enjoyed after several years of cellaring to allow its firm tannins and concentrated fruit to fully integrate.

Vietti was founded in Castiglione Falletto in the late 1800s and has been a defining force in Piedmontese winemaking for four generations. The estate was acquired by the Krause family in 2016 and named Winery of the Year by Antonio Galloni of Vinous in 2022. The 2021 vintage received scores of 97 from James Suckling, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, and Wine Spectator, as well as 95 from both Jeb Dunnuck and Vinous.
