Xavier Gérard Côte-Rôtie is a prestigious Northern Rhône Valley red wine from Domaine Gérard, one of the Rhône's most respected small estates. The wine is composed primarily of Syrah (93%) with a traditional co-fermentation of Viognier (7%), sourced from an assemblage of the estate's finest parcels, principally the Mollard lieu-dit (65%) with the balance drawn from Font-Jean, Viallière, and La Landonne.

Vinification follows classic Northern Rhône tradition, with a significant proportion of whole clusters used and spontaneous fermentation in the cellar. Élevage takes place mostly in older demi-muid barrels, preserving the wine's purity and terroir character. The steep, craggy slopes of the Côte-Rôtie appellation require all vineyard work to be done by hand.

The wine displays a floral, lifted aromatic profile with notes of blackberry, black cherry, and crushed violets, underscored by black pepper, smoked meat, and wet stone. It is marked by regal elegance and finesse in the tannins, making it seductively approachable in its youth while retaining the structure and depth to age for decades.
