Upchurch Vineyard's Quintessence Cabernet Sauvignon is an estate-grown red wine sourced from Red Mountain in Washington State's Columbia Valley. The wine is crafted by Chris Upchurch, a legendary Washington winemaker with over 30 years of Bordeaux-style winemaking experience, previously the Founding Winemaker at DeLille Cellars.

The Quintessence bottling is drawn from Block 51, the furthest east block on the Upchurch estate vineyard on Red Mountain. It is inky in the glass, delivering aromas of scorched earth, loamy soils, tobacco leaf, and dark chocolate shavings. On the palate the wine is beautifully concentrated and well-structured with serious depth and flavor density. With firm yet refined tannins, it is built to age and is expected to drink well through 2040.
