Koenig Vineyards is a celebrated Idaho winery based in Caldwell, in the Snake River Valley appellation. This Riesling Ice Wine is crafted in partnership with nearby Williamson Vineyards, two neighboring Snake River Valley farming families who collaborate on specialty bottlings. The wine is a meticulous blend of 93% ice wine from the 2021 vintage and 7% of 2014 Riesling ice wine aged in Hungarian oak barrels — a legacy project initiated by founding winemaker Greg Koenig, who sought to explore how a Tokaji-inspired winemaking approach might work with Idaho Riesling. The winery is now led by James Nederend.

On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of jasmine, honeycomb, and a delicate hint of petrol characteristic of fine aged Riesling. The palate is lush and expressive, delivering flavors of peach and lavender honey. At 11.5% alcohol and packaged in a 375ml half-bottle format, this is a concentrated and elegant dessert wine suitable for pairing with blue cheese, foie gras, fruit-based desserts, or sipping on its own.

This rare wine earned a Double Platinum rating of 97 points from Great Northwest Wine, a Gold Medal at the Cascadia International Wine Competition, and Best of Show at the Idaho Wine & Cider Competition. With a production of only 194 cases, it is a collectible and highly awarded expression of Idaho's growing fine wine reputation.
