The Coto de Real Gran Reserva is a classic Rioja red wine produced by El Coto de Rioja (Bodegas El Coto), one of the largest and most respected wineries in Spain's Rioja DOCa appellation. Founded in 1970 in the town of Oyón, El Coto de Rioja farms over 1,800 acres of estate vineyards spread across all three Rioja sub-zones — Rioja Alta, Rioja Baja, and Rioja Alavesa — including Finca Carbonera, the highest altitude vineyard in Rioja DOCa.

This Gran Reserva is crafted predominantly from Tempranillo with a touch of Graciano, and is aged for a minimum of 24 months in American oak barrels followed by at least 36 months of bottle aging before release — the full classic Spanish Gran Reserva treatment. The result is an elegant, deeply structured red that rewards patience. Look for a bright beam of cherry fruit wrapped in notes of vanilla and cedar, with a firm edge of well-integrated tannins that lend a long, satisfying finish. The wine offers fine balance, good acidity, and classic Rioja character.
