Pertinace Barbaresco "Marcarini" DOCG is a premium single-cru wine crafted from 100% Nebbiolo grapes handpicked from the celebrated Marcarini vineyard in Treiso, Piedmont, Italy. Produced by Cantina Pertinace, a cooperative winery founded in 1972 by Mario Barbero and composed of twelve dedicated farmers, this wine represents one of the estate's three distinguished vineyard crus.

The wine undergoes fermentation for 12 days at a controlled temperature of 27-29°C, immediately followed by malolactic fermentation. It then matures in stainless steel for six months before spending 12 months aging in oak, split between French oak tonneaux and traditional Slavonian oak casks, with additional bottle aging before release. The alcohol content is 14.5% ABV.

Deep ruby red in color, this Barbaresco presents intense aromas of candied fruits, dried cherry, chocolate, coffee, cedar, and mint. On the palate it is velvety, powerful, and elegant with rich yet subtle tannins and a long, smooth finish. It pairs beautifully with grilled and roasted meats and aged cheeses.

The Marcarini cru has earned consistently high critical praise, including a 94-point Wine Enthusiast Top 100/Editor's Choice rating for the 2020 vintage, a 94-point score from James Suckling for the 2019 vintage, and a 93-point score from James Suckling for the 2020 vintage.
