Kirkland Signature Farm Raised Atlantic Salmon features fresh, high-quality Atlantic salmon portions that are skinless, boneless, and pin-bone free, making preparation quick and effortless. Each package typically contains 2.5 to 3 pounds of salmon, sold by the pound, with portions that can be cooked whole as a large roast or cut into individual 6 to 8 ounce fillets for faster cooking. The salmon is raised without antibiotics and has a rich, buttery texture with a mild, mellow flavor that is less fishy than wild-caught varieties.
The salmon is farm raised on a diet of fishmeal, vegetables, grains, and oils, resulting in a fattier, more moist texture compared to wild-caught salmon. The flesh is soft and flaky when cooked, with a lighter pink color than sockeye or other wild varieties. Each portion is minimally processed with just a 4% salt and water solution, making it easy to season or marinate according to preference.
This versatile protein works well with numerous cooking methods including baking at low temperatures (275°F to 300°F for 15-30 minutes), air frying at 400°F for 5-7 minutes when fresh or 9-12 minutes when frozen, pan-searing, or grilling. The salmon pairs beautifully with teriyaki sauce, honey mustard, pesto, chimichurri, or simple seasonings like Old Bay, garlic herb blends, or Sichuan salt. It's perfect for rice bowls, spring rolls, salads, tacos, or served alongside roasted vegetables like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, or green beans.
