Groth Estate Chardonnay from the Hillview Vineyard in Napa Valley is a 100% Chardonnay crafted through whole-cluster pressing and aged sur lie in French oak barrels for eight months, with 15% new oak. The wine is estate-grown on a 44-acre property in the Oak Knoll District south of Yountville, originally acquired in 1982. The vineyard is planted with Clone 4 (Wente) and Clone 76 (Dijon) on alluvial soils that benefit from the cooling influence of San Pablo Bay.

The wine opens with aromas of honeysuckle, apple, apricot, and tangerine zest. The palate is vibrant and layered with flavors of pineapple, preserved lemon, cara cara orange, subtle maple, and a refined saline finish. Alcohol content is 14.8%. The vineyard is Napa Green and Fish Friendly Farming certified since 2014.

Pairs well with scallop crudo, crab cakes, or duck breast with pear sauce.
