Domaine Drouhin Oregon Pinot Noir Dundee Hills is an estate-grown red wine from the celebrated Dundee Hills appellation of the Willamette Valley in Oregon. The Drouhin family of Burgundy, France established this Oregon winery in 1988, bringing their centuries-old winemaking philosophy to the Pacific Northwest with a focus on elegance, balance, and finesse. The estate is certified sustainable through the L.I.V.E. (Low Input Viticulture Environment) program, reflecting their commitment to responsible viticulture.
Grapes are handpicked into 25-pound crates, then hand-sorted and de-stemmed at their four-level gravity flow winery, which avoids mechanical pumping to preserve the fruit's delicate character. Fermentations are long and careful, and the wine rests in custom-made barrels crafted in Burgundy from France's finest oak forests, allowing the terroir and vintage to express themselves fully.
On the nose, the wine offers black cherry, ripe sour cherry, dried violets, and lightly roasted coffee beans. The palate delivers fresh raspberry, cranberry, and an earthy complexity. This wine is vibrant and elegant with an optimum drinking window of one to six years, and an aging potential of up to ten years. Serve at 16°C (61°F).
