Feudi di San Gregorio's Patrimo is one of the most celebrated expressions of Merlot from southern Italy, grown in the volcanic soils of the Irpinia zone in Campania. The wine has a fascinating origin story — the estate's Merlot vines were discovered almost by chance when an old supplier delivered grapes without identifying them as Merlot, and from those forgotten vines emerged a wine of remarkable character and international acclaim.

Deep ruby red in color, Patrimo opens with complex aromas of blackberry preserves, sweet spices, eucalyptus, vanilla, and coffee. On the palate it is full-bodied and elegant, with ripe black raspberry fruit framed by chalky tannins, graphite, mineral notes, and accents of sandalwood that linger through a long, refined finish. The tannins are sweet, fine, and soft, offering excellent balance between structure and approachability.

Classified as Campania Rosso IGT, Patrimo is composed of 100% Merlot and aged for 18 months in French oak, followed by nearly a year in bottle before release. It has earned high critical praise including 91 points from Wine Spectator, which described it as "fresh, elegant and medium-bodied" with "finely balanced" fruit and "light, chalky tannins."
