Chateau Ste. Michelle Canoe Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a single-vineyard red wine sourced from the renowned 559-acre Canoe Ridge Estate in Washington State's prestigious Horse Heaven Hills AVA. Produced by one of the Pacific Northwest's most celebrated wineries, this wine has earned scores of 90 or higher on more than 40 occasions, with its Cabernet Sauvignon receiving Wine Spectator "Top 100" honors.
The Canoe Ridge Estate vineyard sits on a steep south-facing slope rising 950 feet above sea level along the Columbia River. Deep, free-draining sandy loam soils over ancient basalt, combined with constant Columbia River winds and a warm, sun-drenched growing season, encourage low vine vigor and highly concentrated fruit. Because Washington State's desert-dry summers and cold winters prevent phylloxera infestation, all vines are grown on their own rootstocks—preserving each variety in its most natural state and contributing to the vineyard's long-term health.
This full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon offers generous flavors of black cherry, mocha, and toasty spice, finishing with firm, polished tannins and an elegant tobacco-and-graphite character. At approximately 14.8% ABV, the wine is sleek and structured, with excellent aging potential through the end of the decade.
