Casa Lapostolle Grand Selection Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium Chilean red wine from the Rapel Valley, crafted by the celebrated winery Casa Lapostolle. Founded in 1994 by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle upon discovering a unique clos in the Apalta Valley sheltering 100-year-old pre-phylloxera vines, the winery is guided by the credo: French in essence, Chilean by birth. Today, the seventh generation leads winemaking alongside Technical Director Andrea León, with the winery holding official recognition of the prestigious Apalta DO since 2018.
This Grand Selection is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Carmenère from the Rapel Valley, delivering aromas of strawberry, blackberry, plum, spicy cardamom, and red paprika. The palate is round and approachable with medium acidity, juicy tannins, and a balanced finish. The 2020 vintage earned 92 points from James Suckling, praised for its bright nose of black cherries, redcurrants, plums and hints of coffee and spices with a crunchy, medium-bodied character. The winery is Certified Sustainable by Wines of Chile.
Pairs excellently with grilled steaks, hearty stews, aged cheese plates, and pasta with Bolognese sauce. Contains sulfites. Approximately 14% ABV.
