Nicolás Catena Zapata is the flagship luxury cuvée from Bodega Catena Zapata, one of Argentina's most acclaimed wineries founded in 1902 in Mendoza. This prestigious red blend combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc sourced from high-altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley's Paraje Altamira region, where extreme altitude and dramatic day-to-night temperature swings produce intensely concentrated fruit.

The wine displays an intense deep purple color with bluish-black tones. Aromas of black fruits including blackberries, black cherries, and black plums are complemented by subtle notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, green olive, and stony minerality. On the palate it is tremendously complex, unfolding layers of red currant, eucalyptus, black pepper, and cassis with a hint of saline minerality. Firm tannins provide structure for the lush fruit, leading to a long, elegant finish with significant aging potential.

The 2020 vintage received exceptional critical acclaim with 98 points from James Suckling, 97 points from Decanter, and 96 points from both Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and Vinous. The wine is aged for up to 16-18 months in French oak barrels. Sold in 750 ML bottles.
