Costco's Fresh Wild King Salmon Fillet is a premium, wild-caught Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) sold by the pound. Also known as king salmon, this is the largest and most prized species among Pacific salmon, renowned for its exceptionally high oil content, vibrant deep-red flesh, firm texture, and rich, buttery flavor.
Wild king salmon from Alaska is harvested using gillnetting and trolling methods and is certified under two independent sustainability standards: the Alaska Responsible Fisheries Management (RFM) certification and the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). The Alaska king salmon fishery is the largest wild-capture king fishery on earth, with sustainability principles enshrined in Alaska's state constitution.
This fillet is an outstanding source of marine-derived long-chain omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA — the most studied and readily usable healthy fats for the human body — supporting heart health, brain function, and prenatal development. Each 3-ounce serving delivers approximately 22g of protein, 1,476mg of omega-3s, and 100% of the daily value for Vitamin B-12, with zero carbohydrates. The rich flesh is versatile in the kitchen and is well suited for baking, broiling, grilling, poaching, sautéing, smoking, roasting, or serving as sushi and sashimi.
