Sandeman Porto Founder's Reserve is a classic Ruby Port wine produced in the Douro region of Portugal under the DOC Porto designation. Named in honor of the Sandeman Founder, this Reserve is one of the winery's greatest Ports, selected from the finest lots of each vintage and representing over two hundred years of winemaking expertise.

The wine displays an intense ruby red color, brilliant and clean, with rich red fruit aromas and a touch of age creating an elegant reflection of powerful flavors. The fruit and fire characteristic of young classic Porto is beautifully balanced with the finesse of age. Produced using traditional Porto Wine methods, hand-picked grapes undergo stalk-removal and crushing before fermentation under controlled temperature with skin maceration to extract the finest components. Wine alcohol is added at the ideal moment to set the balance between body and bouquet.

Following harvest, the wines remain in the Douro before being moved to Sandeman's centuries-old lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia for ageing in oak wood casks. The wines are typically selected between 3 and 5 years old, providing an average age of 4 years, before the final blend is filtered and cold-stabilized prior to bottling. At 20% ABV with 100 g/L residual sugar, Founder's Reserve is rich and full-bodied, sweetness balanced by a refreshing acidity. The wine has received numerous international accolades, including Gold at Mundus Vini 2019, Silver at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2018, and 86 out of 100 points from Robert Parker.

Serve chilled between 14°C and 16°C in large glasses. No decanting is required. Once opened, consume within 4 weeks. Excellent on its own or paired with aged cheeses, rich chocolate desserts, and charcuterie. Contains sulfites. Not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.
