Poppy Pinot Noir is a California red wine sourced from cool-climate vineyards across Monterey County, including the Santa Lucia Highlands, Arroyo Secco, and Monterey appellations along the Central Coast. Founded in 2003 by the Silva Family, Poppy Wines is dedicated to crafting expressive, terroir-driven wines that celebrate the best of California's wine country.
This Pinot Noir opens with a vibrant bouquet of raspberries and strawberries, with undercurrents of fermented cherries and a hint of macerated plum. On the palate it is soft and silky, delivering a rich tapestry of red fruit flavors — raspberry and cherry — balanced by a delicate infusion of spicy, toasty oak. The finish is juicy and persistent, supported by bright acidity and a pleasant mouthfeel. The winery employs minimalist winemaking techniques, using only a touch of oak to let the natural character of the fruit and soil shine through.
Pairs well with earthy dishes such as mushroom risotto, grilled salmon, or roast duck, as well as soft cheeses and charcuterie. Sold as a 12-bottle case of 750ml bottles.
