Col Solare Cabernet Sauvignon is a prestigious Washington State red wine from the Red Mountain AVA, crafted through a celebrated partnership between Tuscany's legendary Marchesi Antinori family and Washington's Chateau Ste. Michelle. Established with the 1995 vintage, Col Solare — meaning "shining hill" — brings Italian winemaking tradition to one of America's finest wine-growing regions.
The wine is a Cabernet Sauvignon-forward blend featuring aromas of cherry, blackcurrants, violet, and pencil shavings, with layered complexity of sandalwood and caramel. Aged in 100% new French oak, it develops rich, fine-grained tannins that lead to a long, elegant finish. The blend is typically composed of approximately 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc, with an alcohol content of 14.5%.
Red Mountain, located within Washington's Columbia Valley, is one of the state's smallest and most acclaimed wine appellations. Known for its warm days, cool nights, and mineral-rich soils, Red Mountain produces wines of exceptional concentration, structure, and aging potential.
